We have all settled in well to life in Year 2. We are challenging ourselves to push our learning further and to continue on the successes we had last year.
This term we have been learning through our topic ‘Where in the world do wild animals live?’ and we began with the question ‘What is an animal?’ We wrote a report about animals and created an animal story based on the story ‘The Selfish Crocodile’.
In maths we have been working on place value, odd and even numbers, addition and subtraction, 2D shapes, arrays and bar charts.
In science we have been finding out about living things, what a habitat is and how animals can survive in their habitats through food chains and adaptation.
We enjoyed going to Bristol Zoo and finding animals from different continents as well as following and creating our own maps.
In art we have taken inspiration from our animals topic to help us create large animals using different textures.
