Maths•Place value •Number bonds consolidation. •Multiplication and division facts – 3, 4 and 8. •Beginning to use formal written methods. •Fractions. •Time and money. English•We are covering a range of genres during the year. We will focus on improving sentence structure and independent writing. •Handwriting – As a school we have taken on a new cursive approach to handwriting. Children will have regular opportunities to practise. •Spellings –Children will learn spelling strategies and investigate and explore the morphology of words. Children will continue to develop their spelling using phonics as appropriate. |

- We expect every child to read a minimum of 3 times a week.
- We will be introducing weekly spelling tests for children to take home and teaching ways of learning spellings in school.
