Morfa Bay have just confirmed our rescheduled visit for the week beginning Monday 2nd November!! As we had already paid for our trip, they have accommodated us by transferring all funds over to the new booking. Huge thanks to Mrs Driscoll for all the liaising and negotiating during such a busy time!!

This week we are going to give you a small collection of things to think about for your project work. This week we would like you to: - Have a look at the 'Look for the Love' whole school REAL project video on the main website page and look for the loving and caring things that are happening in your communities. Please email year5@ashcombeprimary.co.uk with anything that you find! - Start to think about an Ashcombe's Got Talent act (if that is something you are interested in!) - Follow the link to the BBC Bitesize page and have a browse through the activities on the Year 5 page, have a go at whichever activity takes your fancy. - Have a go at the VE day reading comprehension attached as a file. - Have a look through the STEM learning website and find a computing activity that interests you! |

Travis in 5HT has made a hilarious video to advertise potatoes and Bailey (5EG) and Liam (5HT) both chose Captain Tom Moore as their inspiring person and created these amazing posters! Please send us your work and we can feature you on the website next week!

As we cannot go yet, today we would like you to do some research about what to expect when you do get to go in November! Why not try creating your own obstacle course to get you prepared? Day 2 (Tuesday) - Today, we would like you to have a go at a Science experiment if you have the materials available at home. Watch the youtube video to see what you will need. Day 4 (Thursday) - This afternoon, we would like you to listen to a range of different songs and discuss your opinions of them; think carefully about how they make you feel and what they make you think of. In your books, we would like you to write down the name of the song and a few sentences to describe how you felt about it. Why not try asking other people in your house too? Do they feel the same about the song?
Day 5 (Friday) - Today, we would like you to conduct some research! try finding out about someone who has done something amazing or inspiring in the last few weeks; this could be someone that you know personally or someone you have seen in the news or online. In your information, we would like you to find out who they are, what they have done, why they did it and what the consequences of their actions are! You can choose anyway to present your information: reading aloud and recording yourself, pretending you're a news reporter, making a powerpoint, creating a poster/fact file or any other way you can think of. If you would like to, send us a picture/video of your finished work to year5@ashcombeprimary.co.uk.
